FLAC to MP4 audio conversion

Create a fast-start AAC MP4 from FLAC audio.

Fileverses processes eligible FLAC uploads one at a time and writes a newly encoded, audio-only MP4 for every completed item.

Supported files

FLAC in. AAC MP4 out.

FLACMP4

The fixed profile maps the first audio stream, excludes video, removes metadata and chapters, and encodes AAC at 160k in a fast-start MP4.

How it works

Create audio-only MP4 files from FLAC

01

Select FLAC files

Add non-empty .flac files up to 100 MB that FFmpeg can read and that contain audio.

02

Encode AAC MP4 output

Start the queue; the server handles one file at a time and encodes the first audio stream as AAC at 160k.

03

Download each result

Use the completed audio preview where supported, then download the separately named audio-only MP4.

MP4 audio facts

New AAC audio with no source-stream copy.

The download is an audio-only MP4, not a video file or container-only conversion. AAC encoding is fixed by the server profile, while final output size depends on the source.

Convert FLAC to MP4
01

Readable FLAC audio is required

Only non-empty .flac uploads up to 100 MB are accepted, and each must have an FFmpeg-readable audio stream.

02

AAC at 160k in an audio-only MP4

The profile writes a new AAC audio track at 160k and excludes video. The result is not a stream copy.

03

Fast-start does not mean universal support

The MP4 uses fast-start placement, but destination and playback compatibility remain something to test in the intended app or device.

04

Metadata, chapters, and controls are absent

Source metadata and chapters are removed. There is no alternate-track selection, trim, bitrate, channel, sample-rate, or quality control.

FLAC to MP4 FAQ

FLAC-to-MP4 questions

What does the FLAC to MP4 download contain?+

It is an audio-only MP4 with newly encoded AAC at 160k from the first source audio stream.

Does this make an MP4 video?+

No. Video is excluded; this route produces an audio-only MP4 file.

Which FLAC audio stream is converted?+

Only the first audio stream is mapped. Alternate-stream selection is not available.

Are metadata and chapters retained?+

No. The fixed profile removes source metadata and chapters before it writes the output.

Can I choose AAC bitrate or quality?+

No. AAC at 160k is fixed, and there are no bitrate, sample-rate, channel, quality, or editing controls.

Can I convert several FLAC files?+

Yes. Jobs run sequentially, and each successful MP4 receives an individual download.

Is the MP4 guaranteed to be smaller?+

No. Output size varies by source and the new encode; no size guarantee is made.
