Fileverses

Free online M4A to OGG converter

Convert the first M4A audio stream to Vorbis OGG.

Fileverses sends eligible M4A audio through a sequential server queue and writes a newly encoded Vorbis quality-5 OGG from its first audio stream.

  • Vorbis quality 5
  • Audio-only OGG
  • 100 MB per file

Supported files

M4A in. New Vorbis OGG out.

M4AOGG

The fixed profile maps only the first audio stream, removes source metadata and chapters, then creates a fresh OGG. It is not a stream copy.

How it works

Convert M4A audio to OGG

01

Select M4A audio

Add a non-empty .m4a file up to 100 MB that host FFmpeg can read and that contains audio.

02

Start the OGG queue

Files are submitted one at a time to map the first audio stream and encode Vorbis at quality 5.

03

Download each result

Review the completed audio where browser support permits, then save its separately named .ogg file.

Audio conversion boundaries

One audio stream with fixed Vorbis output.

Only the first audio stream is used. There are no track-selection, trim, bitrate, sample-rate, channel, or quality controls.

Convert M4A to OGG
01

Readable M4A with audio

Each upload must be a non-empty .m4a file of 100 MB or less that host FFmpeg can read with an audio stream.

02

First stream only

The route maps the first audio stream only. Alternate tracks cannot be selected and video is not part of the output.

03

New Vorbis OGG

The output is newly encoded as Vorbis quality 5, not copied from the source. Size, sound, and compatibility can vary.

04

No source tags or audio controls

Source metadata and chapters are removed. There are no trim, bitrate, sample-rate, channel, quality, or stream-selection controls.

M4A to OGG FAQ

Vorbis OGG output explained

What does the M4A to OGG converter create?+

It creates a new audio-only Vorbis OGG at quality setting 5 from the first M4A audio stream.

Does it copy M4A audio without changing it?+

No. The selected stream is decoded and newly encoded as Vorbis, so this is not a stream copy.

Can I select a different audio track?+

No. The fixed profile uses only the first audio stream and offers no track-selection control.

Can I convert multiple M4A files?+

Yes. Add eligible files to the queue; they are submitted sequentially and each successful result has its own download.

Are tags and chapters preserved?+

No. Source metadata and chapters are removed from the new OGG output.

Can I trim audio or set bitrate and quality?+

No. There are no trim, bitrate, sample-rate, channel, quality, or stream-selection controls.

Will conversion restore M4A detail or make a smaller file?+

No. Re-encoding cannot restore earlier lossy detail, and output size is not guaranteed. Test the result in its intended destination.
