Supported files

MOV in. GIF out.

MOVGIF

Add MOV video files up to 100 MB each. Fileverses creates a new GIF result with this route’s documented conversion profile; review the completed download before using it elsewhere.

How it works

One queue. A new GIF file.

01

Queue MOV files

Add one or more non-empty .mov videos up to 100 MB each. Each row retains a playable source preview.

02

Create looping GIF copies

Start the queue to have FFmpeg use the first video stream, remove audio and source metadata, sample at 10 frames per second, and make a newly encoded looping GIF.

03

Preview and download

Inspect each completed animated GIF in the queue, then download that separately named .gif result.

Limits and quality

A new GIF file, with source-specific trade-offs.

The profile maps only the first video stream and deliberately omits audio, subtitles, attachments, chapters, alternate streams, and metadata output.

01

MOV sources only

This route accepts non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB each. The selected video also needs to be readable by the host FFmpeg installation.

02

Video only, no sound

The profile maps only the first video stream and deliberately omits audio, subtitles, attachments, chapters, alternate streams, and metadata output.

03

Fixed GIF animation profile

Each result is a fresh GIF sampled at 10 frames per second and scaled to a maximum width of 480 pixels with aspect ratio retained. There are no trim, resize, frame-rate, quality, palette, or lossless controls, and file size or visual equivalence is not guaranteed.

MOV to GIF FAQ

Questions, answered.

What MOV files can I convert to GIF?+

This converter accepts non-empty .mov videos up to 100 MB each. The host FFmpeg installation must also be able to read the selected source.

Does the GIF loop?+

Yes. A successful conversion creates a looping GIF from the first video stream. Review the animated preview because its motion and detail depend on the source and the new encode.

Does MOV to GIF include sound?+

No. GIF output from this route is silent. The conversion maps video only and deliberately removes the MOV audio.

What size and frame rate is the GIF?+

The fixed profile samples at 10 frames per second and scales to a maximum width of 480 pixels while retaining aspect ratio. It has no per-file resize or frame-rate controls.

Can I convert several MOV videos?+

Yes. Add multiple supported MOV files to the queue. The browser submits real conversions sequentially, and every successful row receives its own GIF preview and download button.

Will the GIF be smaller or look identical to my MOV?+

Not necessarily. GIF uses a newly encoded palette-based animation at the route's fixed sampling and scale. File size and visual detail vary, so inspect the result before using it.

Can I trim the MOV or select a different stream?+

No. This route has no trimming, stream selection, subtitles, quality, palette, scaling, or frame-rate controls. It uses only the first video stream.

Are files kept after conversion?+

Each source and output exists in a temporary server directory only while its conversion runs. The directory is removed whether the job succeeds or fails.
