Supported files

OGG in. MP3 out.

OGGMP3

Add OGG audio files up to 100 MB each. Fileverses creates a new MP3 result with this route’s documented conversion profile; review the completed download before using it elsewhere.

How it works

One queue. A new MP3 file.

01

Queue OGG audio

Choose one or more non-empty .ogg files up to 100 MB each. Each queue row retains its own playable source.

02

Create MP3 copies

Start the queue to convert the first readable audio stream of every source to a new LAME MP3 at VBR quality setting 2.

03

Listen and download

Check each completed audio result in the queue, then download its separately named MP3 file.

Limits and quality

A new MP3 file, with source-specific trade-offs.

The output is a newly encoded MP3 made by LAME VBR quality setting 2. It is not the original OGG audio, does not use a fixed bitrate, and has no promised output size.

Convert OGG now
01

OGG sources only

This route accepts non-empty .ogg files up to 100 MB each. The selected file needs to be readable by the host FFmpeg installation and contain an audio stream.

02

New lossy MP3 encode

The output is a newly encoded MP3 made by LAME VBR quality setting 2. It is not the original OGG audio, does not use a fixed bitrate, and has no promised output size.

03

First audio stream only

The profile selects the first audio stream, removes source metadata, and excludes video. It does not guarantee alternate audio-track, video, subtitle, chapter, attachment, or metadata preservation, and has no trimming or bitrate controls.

OGG to MP3 FAQ

Questions, answered.

What OGG files can I add?+

This converter accepts non-empty .ogg files up to 100 MB each. FFmpeg must be able to read the selected file and find an audio stream for conversion to succeed.

What does the downloaded MP3 contain?+

A successful result is a newly encoded MP3 audio file made with the LAME encoder at VBR quality setting 2. It contains the first readable audio stream from the source.

Does OGG to MP3 keep the original audio quality?+

No quality recovery is promised. MP3 is a lossy re-encode, so the result cannot restore detail lost in an OGG source. Listen to the completed file before using it.

Can I convert several OGG files at once?+

Yes. Add multiple OGG files to the queue. The browser submits one conversion at a time, and each successful row has its own result player and download button.

Will the MP3 have a fixed bitrate or smaller size?+

No. This profile uses LAME VBR quality setting 2 rather than a fixed bitrate. The resulting size depends on the source and the encoder output.

Does this convert video, alternate tracks, or metadata?+

The profile maps only the first audio stream, removes source metadata, and excludes video. It does not guarantee alternate-track, video, subtitle, chapter, attachment, or metadata preservation.

Are files retained after conversion?+

Source and output files are written to a temporary server directory only while each conversion runs. Both are removed after the conversion finishes or fails.
