Supported files

WEBM in. MOV out.

WEBMMOV

Add WEBM video files up to 100 MB each. Fileverses creates a new MOV result with this route’s documented conversion profile; review the completed download before using it elsewhere.

How it works

One queue. A new MOV file.

01

Queue WebM files

Add one or more non-empty .webm videos up to 100 MB each. Each queued item keeps a playable source preview.

02

Create new MOV files

Start the queue to have FFmpeg encode the first video stream as H.264 and the optional first audio stream as AAC in a new fast-start MOV.

03

Check and download

Review the completed MOV preview, then download the separately named result for that queue item.

Limits and quality

A new MOV file, with source-specific trade-offs.

Every successful result is a newly encoded fast-start MOV with H.264 video and AAC audio when the source has a first audio stream. It is not a container-only remux.

01

WebM sources only

This route accepts non-empty .webm files up to 100 MB each. The selected source must also be readable by the host FFmpeg installation.

02

Fresh H.264 and AAC encode

Every successful result is a newly encoded fast-start MOV with H.264 video and AAC audio when the source has a first audio stream. It is not a container-only remux.

03

First streams, fixed settings

The profile maps only the first video stream and optional first audio stream, removes source metadata and chapters, and offers no subtitle or alternate-track selection, trimming, resizing, bitrate, codec, or quality controls.

WEBM to MOV FAQ

Questions, answered.

What WebM files can I convert to MOV?+

This route accepts non-empty .webm files up to 100 MB each. The host FFmpeg installation must also be able to read the selected source.

What does the converted MOV contain?+

A successful result is a fast-start MOV with newly encoded H.264 video. If the selected WebM has a first audio stream, the result also includes newly encoded AAC audio.

Does WebM to MOV preserve every stream?+

No. The profile uses only the first video stream and optional first audio stream. It does not promise subtitles, attachments, chapters, alternate tracks, source metadata, or original-codec retention.

Can I convert several WebM videos at once?+

Yes. Add multiple supported WebM files to the queue. The browser submits real conversions sequentially, and each successful row receives its own MOV preview and download button.

Will the MOV be smaller or look identical?+

Not necessarily. The route makes a new H.264 and optional AAC encode at fixed settings, so final size and visual or audio detail vary with the source. Check the result before use.

Can I choose subtitles, trim, or change resolution?+

No. This route has no editing, stream-selection, resizing, subtitle, quality, bitrate, or codec controls.

Is every MOV workflow guaranteed to support the result?+

No. The route writes H.264 video and optional AAC audio in MOV, but destination and application support still varies. Test the downloaded file in your required software.

Are files retained after conversion?+

Each source and output exists in a temporary server directory only while its job runs. The directory is removed whether conversion succeeds or fails.
