This browser workflow decodes the GIF and draws it once to a canvas, so an animated source produces a single browser-rendered still rather than motion, timing, loops, or a frame sequence. The ODD writer then creates a store-only ZIP with a mimetype entry, META-INF/manifest.xml, content.xml, one drawing page, and one draw:image reference at the GIF's decoded pixel width and height. A significant limitation is that the package records the original source bytes at Pictures/image.png and declares that entry as image/png; it does not canvas-encode a new PNG. Treat the result as a narrow handoff to test, not a reconstructed drawing, vector conversion, layered document, or a guarantee that every ODF application will open it the same way.
