Free online GIF-to-PSD still export
Use this free online GIF-to-PSD export when a recipient needs a simple Photoshop-compatible image handoff. Fileverses renders one GIF frame in a browser canvas, composites transparent pixels onto white, and writes a minimal merged 8-bit RGB PSD. The source stays in your browser; download the still and inspect it in the receiving editor.

About this converter
GIF may contain a still image or animation, but this route renders one browser-rendered GIF frame to one canvas. An animated GIF therefore becomes a single still PSD: its timing, loops, and other frames are not included. The PSD writer creates a minimal version-1 document with three raw, uncompressed 8-bit RGB planes and one merged composite. It writes no layer-and-mask section, so the result is a flat visible-image handoff rather than an editable Photoshop project. Before RGB pixels are written, decoded transparency is composited onto white; the PSD has no alpha channel. It also contains no vectors, text objects, smart objects, adjustment data, color profile, or source metadata transfer. The visible result is limited to the decoded GIF pixels and dimensions. Keep the original GIF when animation or source artwork matters, and open the download in the exact receiving editor before delivery.
How it works
Drop, paste, or choose eligible GIFs. Files stay in this browser; an animated GIF produces one rendered still, not motion or a frame sequence.
PSD is preselected for this route. It writes one merged 8-bit RGB image on white, so choose it only when a flat visible-image handoff is appropriate.
Save each PSD locally, then open it in the receiving editor to check the still image, white background, pixel dimensions, compatibility, and download size.
Made for real pipelines
Convert without uploading your assets. Switch outputs anytime — web, print, icons, and document targets from the same batch.
Export GIF frame to PSDCreate a static PSD from one browser-rendered GIF frame; the download does not contain animation, timing, looping, or a frame sequence.
Export one uncompressed 8-bit RGB composite for a visible-image handoff, not editable layers, vectors, masks, or other Photoshop project data.
Decoded transparent pixels are composited onto white before the local PSD export. Inspect the background, dimensions, compatibility, and size in the receiving editor.
Good to know
Yes. Fileverses offers this GIF-to-PSD export free online with no account. Supported image conversion runs locally in your browser, and you download the PSD yourself.
No. The browser renders one GIF frame to a canvas, and the PSD contains one still image. It does not include animation timing, loops, or the other GIF frames. Keep the original GIF when motion matters.

This writer creates three RGB channels and no alpha channel. It composites decoded transparent pixels onto white before export; it does not remove, replace, or create a background.
No. The export has no editable layers, masks, smart objects, adjustment data, vectors, text objects, color profile, or source metadata. It contains the merged visible pixels from the browser-rendered still.
You can queue up to 50 files under 50 MB each, and a decoded image over 12 megapixels is rejected. The PSD download size varies with the rendered pixel dimensions, so check it against any receiving-system limit.
