Supported files

MOV in. MP3 out.

MOVMP3

Add MOV audio files up to 100 MB each. Fileverses creates a new MP3 result with this route’s documented conversion profile; review the completed download before using it elsewhere.

How it works

One queue. A new MP3 file.

01

Queue MOV files

Choose one or more non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB each. Each queue row retains its own playable source preview.

02

Create MP3 audio copies

Start the queue to have FFmpeg map the first readable audio stream from each MOV and encode it as a new LAME MP3 at VBR quality setting 2.

03

Listen and download

Inspect every completed MP3 in the queue, then download that separately named audio result.

Limits and quality

A new MP3 file, with source-specific trade-offs.

Each result is a newly encoded LAME MP3 using VBR quality setting 2, not copied MOV audio. It does not use a fixed bitrate, cannot recover earlier audio detail, and has no promised output size.

01

MOV sources with audio

This route accepts non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB each. The selected file must be readable by the host FFmpeg installation and have a readable audio stream.

02

New lossy MP3 encoding

Each result is a newly encoded LAME MP3 using VBR quality setting 2, not copied MOV audio. It does not use a fixed bitrate, cannot recover earlier audio detail, and has no promised output size.

03

First audio stream only

The profile maps only the first audio stream, removes source metadata, and excludes video. It does not preserve video, alternate audio tracks, subtitles, attachments, chapters, original codecs, or metadata, and has no trimming or bitrate controls.

MOV to MP3 FAQ

Questions, answered.

What MOV files can I convert to MP3?+

This converter accepts non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB each. FFmpeg must be able to read the MOV and find a readable audio stream for conversion to succeed.

What does the downloaded MP3 contain?+

A successful result is a newly encoded MP3 made with the LAME encoder at VBR quality setting 2. It contains only the first readable audio stream from the MOV.

Does MOV to MP3 keep the video?+

No. This is an audio-only conversion. The profile excludes video and writes an MP3 file, so no MOV video stream is included in the download.

Can I convert several MOV files at once?+

Yes. Add multiple supported MOV files to the queue. The browser submits one real server-side conversion at a time, and every successful row receives its own MP3 player and download button.

Will the MP3 have a fixed bitrate or smaller size?+

No. The route uses LAME VBR quality setting 2 instead of a fixed bitrate. The result size depends on the source and the encoder output.

Does this keep alternate audio tracks or metadata?+

No. The profile maps only the first audio stream, removes source metadata, and excludes video. It does not promise alternate-track, subtitle, chapter, attachment, original-codec, or metadata preservation.

Can I trim the MOV or choose MP3 settings?+

No. This route has no trimming, stream-selection, bitrate, or quality controls. It uses its fixed LAME VBR-quality-2 profile.

Are files kept after conversion?+

Each source and output exists in a temporary server directory only while its conversion runs. The directory is removed whether the job succeeds or fails.
