Fileverses

Free online MOV to animated WEBP

Make a looping animated WEBP from a MOV.

Fileverses takes the first video stream from an eligible MOV and creates an animated WebP at the route’s fixed quality setting.

Supported files

A MOV animation becomes an animated WebP.

MOVWEBP

Upload a non-empty MOV up to 100 MB. The server encodes the first video stream as a new looping animated WebP, not a static image or a renamed movie.

How it works

Create an animated WebP from MOV

01

Choose a MOV

Add a non-empty .mov file of 100 MB or less.

02

Encode the animation

Start the sequential server queue to encode the first video stream as animated WebP.

03

Download the loop

Review the completed image where browser support permits and download the separately named .webp file.

Animation limits

Video frames in; fixed-quality WebP animation out.

The profile uses libwebp_anim at quality 75 with an infinite loop. Audio, metadata, chapters, and all non-primary streams are excluded.

Make animated WebP
01

MOV source boundary

The route accepts only non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB, and the host FFmpeg installation must be able to read the source.

02

Fixed animated WebP profile

Output uses libwebp_anim at quality 75 and loop count zero, which denotes continuous looping.

03

No sound or source structure

Audio is removed. Only the first video stream is mapped; metadata, chapters, subtitles, attachments, and alternate streams are not retained.

04

No animation editing

There are no controls for trim, crop, resize, frame rate, palette, quality, or loop behavior. Size and appearance can differ from the MOV.

MOV to WebP FAQ

Animation conversion answers

Does MOV to WebP create an animated file?+

Yes. The profile uses FFmpeg’s animated WebP encoder and writes an infinitely looping animated WebP when conversion succeeds.

Will the WebP contain the MOV audio?+

No. This route removes audio and produces an image animation only.

What part of the MOV is used?+

Only the first video stream is mapped. Alternate streams, subtitles, attachments, metadata, and chapters are not preserved.

Is the output a static WebP?+

No. It is an animated WebP, provided the input contains readable video frames and conversion succeeds.

Can I choose frame rate or quality?+

No. The route uses fixed quality 75 and has no frame-rate, resize, crop, trim, palette, or loop controls.

What MOV files can I upload?+

Use a non-empty .mov file no larger than 100 MB that host FFmpeg can read.

Will the result be smaller?+

There is no size guarantee. A new animation is encoded, so file size and visual result should be checked before use.
