Supported files

MP4 in. OGG out.

MP4OGG

Add MP4 audio files up to 100 MB each. Fileverses creates a new OGG result with this route’s documented conversion profile; review the completed download before using it elsewhere.

How it works

One queue. A new OGG file.

01

Queue MP4 files

Choose one or more non-empty .mp4 files up to 100 MB each. Each queue row keeps its own playable source preview.

02

Create OGG audio

Start the queue to have FFmpeg map the first audio stream from each readable MP4 and encode a new Vorbis OGG at its fixed quality setting.

03

Listen and download

Inspect every completed OGG in the queue, then download that separately named audio result.

Limits and quality

A new OGG file, with source-specific trade-offs.

Each result is a newly encoded OGG with Vorbis audio at fixed quality 5, not copied MP4 audio. Its size and sound can differ from the source, and the new encode cannot recover earlier audio detail.

01

MP4 sources with audio

This route accepts non-empty .mp4 files up to 100 MB each. The selected file must be readable by the host FFmpeg installation and have an audio stream.

02

New Vorbis OGG audio

Each result is a newly encoded OGG with Vorbis audio at fixed quality 5, not copied MP4 audio. Its size and sound can differ from the source, and the new encode cannot recover earlier audio detail.

03

First audio stream only

The profile maps only the first audio stream, removes source metadata and chapters, and excludes video. It does not preserve alternate audio tracks, subtitles, attachments, original codecs, or metadata, and has no trimming, sample-rate, channel, or quality controls.

MP4 to OGG FAQ

Questions, answered.

What MP4 files can I convert to OGG?+

This converter accepts non-empty .mp4 files up to 100 MB each. FFmpeg must be able to read the MP4 and find an audio stream for conversion to succeed.

What does the downloaded OGG contain?+

A successful result is a newly encoded OGG with Vorbis audio at fixed quality 5. It contains only the first audio stream from the MP4.

Can I convert several MP4 files at once?+

Yes. Add multiple supported MP4 files to the queue. The browser submits one real server-side conversion at a time, and every successful row receives its own OGG player and download button.

Will the OGG keep my MP4 video?+

No. This is an audio-only conversion. The profile maps the first audio stream and excludes video from the OGG result.

Does this keep alternate audio tracks or metadata?+

No. The profile maps only the first audio stream and removes source metadata and chapters. It does not promise alternate-track, subtitle, attachment, original-codec, or metadata preservation.

Can I choose OGG settings or trim the audio?+

No. This route has no trimming, stream-selection, sample-rate, channel, bitrate, or quality controls. It uses its fixed Vorbis quality-5 OGG profile.

Are files kept after conversion?+

Each source and output exists in a temporary server directory only while its conversion runs. The directory is removed whether the job succeeds or fails.
