Supported files

MOV in. WAV out.

MOVWAV

Add MOV audio files up to 100 MB each. Fileverses creates a new WAV result with this route’s documented conversion profile; review the completed download before using it elsewhere.

How it works

One queue. A new WAV file.

01

Queue MOV files

Choose one or more non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB each. Every row retains a playable source-audio preview.

02

Make the WAV copies

Start the queue and FFmpeg maps the first audio stream from each readable MOV, omits video, and encodes a new PCM signed 16-bit little-endian WAV.

03

Listen and download

Review each finished WAV in its own player, then download the separately named result you need.

Limits and quality

A new WAV file, with source-specific trade-offs.

Each download is a newly encoded PCM signed 16-bit little-endian WAV, not copied MOV audio. WAV can be much larger than the source, has no promised output size, and cannot recover earlier lost detail.

01

MOV sources must contain audio

This route accepts non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB each. The host FFmpeg installation must be able to read the file and find an audio stream.

02

New uncompressed PCM WAV

Each download is a newly encoded PCM signed 16-bit little-endian WAV, not copied MOV audio. WAV can be much larger than the source, has no promised output size, and cannot recover earlier lost detail.

03

First audio stream only

The profile maps only the first audio stream, omits video, and removes source metadata and chapters. It does not retain alternate tracks, subtitles, attachments, original codecs, metadata, or provide trimming, sample-rate, channel, or bitrate controls.

MOV to WAV FAQ

Questions, answered.

What MOV files can I convert to WAV?+

This converter accepts non-empty .mov files up to 100 MB each. FFmpeg must be able to read the MOV and find an audio stream for conversion to succeed.

What does the downloaded WAV contain?+

A successful result is a newly encoded WAV with PCM signed 16-bit little-endian audio. It contains only the first audio stream from the MOV; video is not included.

Can I convert several MOV files at once?+

Yes. Add multiple supported MOV files to the queue. The browser submits one real server-side conversion at a time, and each successful row receives its own WAV player and download button.

Will the WAV be smaller or restore audio quality?+

No. PCM WAV is uncompressed and can be much larger than MOV audio. The new encode cannot restore detail lost in an earlier source, and final size depends on the source and encoder output.

Does this keep video, alternate tracks, or metadata?+

No. The profile maps only the first audio stream, omits video, and removes source metadata and chapters. It does not promise alternate-track, subtitle, attachment, original-codec, or metadata preservation.

Can I choose WAV settings or trim the audio?+

No. This route has no trimming, stream-selection, sample-rate, channel, bitrate, or quality controls. It uses its fixed PCM signed 16-bit little-endian WAV profile.

Are files kept after conversion?+

Each source and output exists in a temporary server directory only while its conversion runs. The directory is removed whether the job succeeds or fails.
