Fileverses

Free online WEBM audio to OGG converter

Turn a WEBM soundtrack into a Vorbis OGG file.

Upload a WEBM with audio and Fileverses sends each file through its server queue to create a new audio-only OGG. Video is not carried into the download.

  • Audio-only OGG
  • Vorbis quality 5
  • 100 MB per file

Supported files

WEBM video in. OGG audio out.

WEBMOGG

This route selects the first audio stream in a readable WEBM and encodes it as Vorbis in an OGG container. It does not package the original WEBM audio unchanged.

How it works

Extract audio from WEBM in three steps.

01

Add WEBM files with sound

Choose non-empty .webm files no larger than 100 MB. The server must be able to read an audio stream.

02

Run the sequential queue

Start conversion; files are handled one at a time with the route’s fixed FFmpeg profile.

03

Listen and download

Use the OGG result control where the browser supports it, then download the separately named audio file.

What the conversion changes

A new OGG, not a WEBM remux.

The fixed profile removes video, metadata, and chapters, then makes Vorbis-quality-5 audio. File size, playback support, and sound can differ from the source.

Extract WEBM audio
01

Audio is required

A WEBM without an audio stream cannot produce an OGG here. The route maps only the first audio stream when several are present.

02

Video is deliberately excluded

The download is audio-only. Video, subtitles, attachments, and alternate streams are not preserved.

03

Fixed Vorbis encode

FFmpeg creates a new Vorbis OGG at quality setting 5. This is not stream copying and cannot recover detail already lost in the source.

04

Metadata and chapters are removed

Source metadata and chapters are not transferred. There are no trim, bitrate, channel, sample-rate, codec, or stream-selection controls.

WEBM to OGG help

Before you convert WEBM audio.

What WEBM files work with this converter?+

Use a non-empty .webm file up to 100 MB that host FFmpeg can read and that contains audio.

Does the OGG include the WEBM video?+

No. The profile maps the first audio stream and explicitly excludes video, so the result is audio-only.

Which audio codec does Fileverses create?+

It encodes Vorbis audio in an OGG container using FFmpeg quality setting 5.

Can it keep multiple language tracks?+

No. It maps only the first audio stream. Alternate audio tracks, subtitles, and attachments are not included.

Will OGG be smaller or sound the same?+

Neither is guaranteed. The audio is decoded and encoded again, so size and audible result depend on the source and destination encoder.

Are source tags and chapters kept?+

No. This profile removes source metadata and chapters before writing the new OGG.

Can I trim the audio or select a bitrate?+

No. This converter has no editing or audio-setting controls; it uses its fixed profile.
